The Permaculture Credit Union (PCU) is the first and only credit union in the United States that operates exclusively within permaculture values. Established in 2000, the PCU pools the financial resources of people who believe in the ethics of permaculture:
- care of the earth
- care of people, and;
- reinvestment of surplus for the betterment of both.
The organization is also a cooperative financial institution in which each member has a share of the ownership/control of the organization. The Credit Union is run by a volunteer Board of Directors who are elected by the membership with additional oversight being provided by the Supervisory Committee. A small staff handles the day-to-day operations.
The following Board and Supervisory Committee sections give you a little background on the individuals involved. For the purposes of complete transparency, the Financial Reports section contains recent copies of our Monthly Financial Statements, Quarterly Call Reports that are submitted to the NCUA and the Form 990 – Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax, that is submitted to the IRS every year.
If you have any questions about these documents you can call the office at (505) 954-3479 or contact us at PCUStaff@pcuonline.org.
