Permaculture Credit Union to Merge with Sandia Area Federal Credit Union

The board of Permaculture Credit Union voted to join with Sandia Area Federal Credit Union. We’re thrilled to make this announcement because we think it will offer you, our members, many of the products and technologies you’ve asked about.

The merger discussion has been underway for several months. The Permaculture Credit Union Board of Directors carefully considered the effect this merger would have on members and employees before selecting Sandia Area. We explored multiple options for our membership’s future growth, and a partnership with Sandia Area is a win-win for all. A shared commitment to community, access to affordable financial services, and an earnest interest in improving the lives of our members are the cornerstones of both Permaculture and Sandia Area.

What this means to you is that many of the products and technologies you’ve asked about will be available beginning October 1, 2014. The new products and services include:

  • More technology, including transactional Online and Mobile Banking
  • Checking Accounts
  • Debit Card services access to over 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs
  • New loan options

The merger has been approved by state and federal credit union regulatory agencies. On October 1, 2014, the merger will be complete and our Santa Fe office will open as Sandia Area. We have a team dedicated to ensuring that the merger is a smooth transition for you.
